20 Farringdon Road is a light touch reinvention of a tired and dated 1980s office building adjacent to Farringdon Station. Refurbishment of both tenant and common areas needed to respond to a challenging budget, a rolling programme and a constrained site. Externally, the weathered granite and glass façade of pink, beige, bronze and grey has been painted a matt and gloss black to unify and freshen the appearance. A second entrance and two roof terraces were added. Internally, the main reception has been reconfigured, common parts have had an injection of colour and graphics, while tenant floors benefit from maximised height, exposed services and graphic lighting arrangement.
