Once home to the BBC offices, the Helios Building now accommodates 162 new homes, a gym and a 47-bedroom hotel. The central courtyard has been refurbished and the Helios statue by T.B. Huxley Jones returned, fountains at the base of the obelisk have been restored, and sculptures representing Sound and Vision have been placed within the new planting, creating a calm contemplative space. Directly below Helios, a helical staircase provides access to a basement gym which forms part of the Club, whose second and third storey rooms face directly into the Helios Courtyard.

The former stage door entrance foyer is re-imagined as a residential lobby, with refurbished terrazzo flooring, profiled timber strip cladding, a bespoke leather and marble reception desk, and the restored John Piper mosaic. The lobby leads to residential amenity space, a private screening room, a residents’ lounge, and library spaces available for informal meetings and co-working.

The Helios Building accommodates a variety of apartment sizes, ranging from one-bedroom studio apartments to three-bedroom penthouses. A number of these duplex penthouses on the eighth and ninth storeys have been designed by invited architects Archer Humphreys, Coffey Architects, Haptic, and Piercy and Co.
