Bonnington Walk is a residential led scheme in Bristol with a simple, legible urban grain. A primary street links the site entrance on Bonnington Walk to Landseer Avenue and the local community and retail hub at Gainsborough Square. The cycle path that follows the railway line north to Filton railway station is upgraded and re-routed to avoid a Site of National Conservation Interest, and a new segregated footpath allows pedestrians to move safely through the site.

A variety of homes provide a sustainable housing mix, including wheelchair accessible homes, one and two bed apartments, and two, three and four-bedroom houses. Tenure is distributed across the site delivering a 50% affordable split.

The roof-scape is varied with a mix of flat roofs, front-to-back pitched roofs and gable pitches that give character to the streets and complement the local context. A simple, robust palette of materials is used across the buildings, with subtle brick bonding and recess detailing.

Significant new public open space is created in the heart of the development overlooked by apartments and the community hall. The site has been arranged to allow vistas to be framed around and between houses, with other buildings arranged to terminate views at the ends of streets.
