The new YouTube Space London is a 20,000ft² state-of-the-art studio facility for use by YouTube Creators located in Google’s new headquarters at 6 Pancras Square. With its own entrance on Pancras Road opposite the St Pancras Eurostar terminal, the Space is designed to provide a welcoming and inspiring home for the YouTube community in London. With the aim of bringing people together to ‘Learn, Connect, Create’ the Space provides a series of flexible areas that can be used for a wide range of events including a 70 seat training room, a barista café, a community lounge and series of break-out spaces. At the heart of the complex are the cutting-edge studios equipped with an industry leading acoustic specification and innovative technical equipment to allow YouTubers the freedom and flexibility to express their creativity. The largest studio doubles as a 4k screening room with a Dolby Atmos certified sound system. The technical facilities are connected to the community spaces above by a double height ‘street’ which allows the timber clad volumes of the studios to be seen from all angles. Viewing windows are included to allow visitors to watch productions in progress in the studios below. A circular roof light provides a glimpse of the sky through atrium roof 12 storeys above and also allows visitors to the Google office a peek into the creative world beneath their feet. Other features include a series of bespoke large-scale art commissions and the world’s first Creator Store which is open the public 6-days per week.
