Incubator II is the latest in a series of AHMM buildings within the Alconbury Weald masterplan, designed for Urban & Civic. The building has commonalities in design approach, form and materiality with the rest of the suite but reinterprets the grammar to create an architecturally distinct proposal. It is designed to provide flexible office space for small and medium sized start-up businesses as well as common facilities. The central core is characterised by a double-height space, expressed lift shaft and glazed circulation stair. Porthole windows and circular rooflights provide character and views out on to the main boulevard.
