Serving up craft cocktails and artisan tacos, Oso on Paseo is the newest addition to the thriving arts community of the Paseo District in Oklahoma City. Located at the main entrance to a popular mixed commercial complex, an architectural pergola activates the patio with shade while a calming fountain and ample greenery encourage year-round outdoor use. Inside the restaurant, a central bar is the main focus. Constructed out of white bricks, the exposed core holes create a veil and add a play of light and depth to the bar. Oso’s material palette echoes the craft food concept with dark patinaed steel shelving, white-washed ceiling rafters, and handcrafted plywood details. Blue encaustic floor tiles line the bar area while the chosen color is repeated in furniture and again in restrooms that feature blue-grouted tile walls. Oso’s walkable location, comfortable outdoor patio, and thoughtful details have resulted in a prominent and thriving addition to Oklahoma City.
