Lam joined AHMM in 2006 after practicing in Hong Kong, Melbourne, Singapore and London. His projects in the UK include a part new build, part refurbished office development in Tooley Street, London, and a compact mixed-use light industrial, purpose built student accommodation and affordable housing scheme on the landlocked industrial site of the Apollo Business Centre in Lewisham, London. Lam has also led two milestone international projects for AHMM. The University of Amsterdam, a complex large-scale reinvention of two post-war university buildings in the heart of the Dutch capital, and in India, a new 3 million square feet campus for Google, with a host of amenities for 10,000 employees. With AHMM's Managing Director, Peter Morris, Lam runs the in-house weekly design review programme for the practice's leadership team. Lam was made an Associate in 2010 and Associate Director in 2021.
