Planning permission for Millennium Mills

Detailed planning permission has been granted by the London Borough of Newham for the redevelopment of the landmark but currently derelict Millennium Mills building, forming the first phase of plans for a major regeneration of Silvertown Quays, a historic dock area of east London. The overall development by Lendlease and Starwood Capital will provide thousands of new homes, new jobs and non-residential space including commercial, brand, retail, hotel and community use. As well as Millennium Mills, an imposing flour mill that has not been in use since the 1980s, the first phase also includes Silo D, a Grade II listed, modernist reinforced concrete grain silo, which will also become a focal point of the new development.
