AHMM has been appointed by Aberystwyth University to refurbish the Arts Centre and Student Union building on the Penglais Campus in Aberystwyth, West Wales.

Aberystwyth Arts Centre is one of the largest in Wales welcoming over 750,000 visitors a year. The facilities include a theatre, concert hall, studio, cinema, gallery spaces, cafes, bards and retail. The Arts Centre provides a major interface with the local and regional community and is a contributor to the consistently high ratings for student satisfaction at Aberystwyth.

The Centre opened to the public in the early 1970s and whilst it has undergone a number of improvements and extensions over the years, still retains a majority of its original building fabric and services. The new refurbishment will holistically review the function and operation of the Centre with a view to re-modelling certain provisions and ensure that public access and navigation is optimised.
