Topping out at Twyford Park 05.08.26

On Tuesday, 04 August, the project team for Twyford Park marked the topping out of the project with Cllr Peter Mason, Leader of Ealing Council and our clients Latimer (Clarion Housing Group’s development arm) and main contractor, JJ Rhatigan marking an important milestone in delivering this landmark regeneration scheme. The event celebrated the construction progress showcasing the future homes and work to the walled garden and landscape.

The Twyford Park development saves and sympathetically restores a derelict Grade-II listed manor house and original walled garden on Historic England’s Heritage at Risk Register in Ealing, west London. A total of 326 new homes will be built across the whole site; 30 homes in the restored Abbey and 269 carefully designed new homes across seven new residential buildings, 50% of which will be affordable housing for local people.

The scheme, designed by AHMM adopts a landscape-led approach to the masterplan with the new residential buildings carefully placed within the grounds to respect the most significant trees and the setting of listed buildings, with the architectural approach inspired by the Gothic character of Twyford Abbey. The abbey’s historic grounds will be opened up to the public for the first time since the Alexian Brotherhood vacated the Twyford Abbey in 1987, improving connectivity with the canal and wider area along with a new 1.2-acre public park complete with children’s play facilities. New community grow gardens and an orchard will be provided within the historic site’s restored walled garden for residents and visitors.
