The Lake Hefner Golf Clubhouse Opens to the public 15.04.26

Last Friday, 10 April, the City of Oklahoma City leaders, including Mayor David Holt and Ward 2 Council person James Cooper, cut the ribbon on the new Lake Hefner Golf Clubhouse during its grand opening weekend.

Publicly owned by The City of Oklahoma, Lake Hefner Golf Club is widely regarded as one of the premier municipal golf courses in a multistate region. This new multiphase building, designed by the AHMM OKC office, strives to be a clubhouse for both Lake Hefner users and City residents by offering a diverse range of uses appealing to more than just golfers.

It’s simple diagram with a simple material palette honours the surrounding scenic context with limestone gabion walls mirroring the Lake shore riprap and dam, while the oxide metal contrasts against the dynamic Oklahoma sky. The clubhouse’s first floor includes a golf shop, locker rooms, office space and a grab-and-go food and beverage area named Alsie’s Corner. The second story will feature Maxwell’s on the Lake, a restaurant and bar with panoramic views over the North Course and Lake Hefner. The second floor also includes two golf simulator bays for indoor play.
