Quakers Friars receives planning 29.05.25

Last week Bristol City Council approved the first part of a masterplan vision that re-imagines an area known as Quakers Friars in central Bristol as a new cultural destination.

Emerging from the original masterplan vision, this project, developed for Bristol Alliance Partnerships, regenerates the ground and first floor of the Philadelphia Street city block which is made up of 4 residential buildings sitting atop a podium of retail, leisure and car parking, converting the existing retail units into a new diverse mix of uses including shops and flexible workspace, supporting the new vision objectives for Quakers Friars.

AHMM’s design proposals have been developed iteratively, taking into account requirements of prospective commercial tenants at first floor level and retail tenants at street level. The materials and finishes have been carefully selected, recognising that a variety of components make up the existing elevation.
