On Friday, 17 October, the project team for Holloway Park celebrated the topping out of phase 1 of the masterplan at a ceremony on site with the clients Peabody and London Square. This marks an important milestone in the masterplan's journey to deliver 985 new homes in Islington, including 415 social rented homes.
AHMM’s proposals for the site of the former Holloway Prison will create an integrated and reconnected residential masterplan and will include 60 extra care homes, a sensory garden, a new public park, as well as shops along Parkhurst Road. In partnership with Islington Council and the local community, a Women’s Building will also be created – a vital new space offering essential services and facilities.
The primary vision for the site is to provide high quality homes and spaces that are connected to the surrounding area and retain the green heart of the existing landscape, opening up the historic site to the public for the first time.
Completion of the first homes designed by AHMM, with project delivery by Veretec, is planned for 2027.
