Belgrove House Tops Out 04.07.25

Yesterday afternoon, Thursday 03 July, celebrated the topping out of the building at a ceremony on site at King’s Cross followed by an evening of celebrations with the client, Precis Advisory, contractors, Mace and wider project team.

Belgrove House is an innovative laboratory and office building for the life sciences sector to be occupied by MSD as a UK Discovery Research Centre and HQ. The proposed building will serve as a sustainability exemplar and a new landmark on this prominent site opposite the civic frontage of Kings Cross railway station.

The new building allows views into the laboratories at lower floors with a glazed ‘shop-window’ facing Kings Cross, flanked by a pair of monolithic vertical risers which provide efficient distribution of large volumes of air to the lab floors. This arrangement of solid and glazed elements repeats on the two sides of the building, leading to the southern end of the site, where the building steps down to 4 storeys and includes a landscaped roof terrace facing the tree canopy of Argyle Square.

The public realm surrounding all sides of the building will be transformed, including the integration of a new underground entrance in Belgrove House and a publicly accessible ground floor designed to encourage interaction with the local community and organisations within the Knowledge Quarter.

The building is expected to be complete and ready for fit-out in spring 2026
