One Portwall Square tops out 30.09.21

This week Executive Directors Peter Morris and Nigel Harris joined the One Portwall Square team to celebrate the project reaching the highest point of construction. The topping out ceremony was marked with the Scandinavian tradition of lifting a fir tree over the building by tower crane, coinciding with the start of the roofworks.

Once complete, One Portwall Square will be the new home of AHMM’s Bristol office, with the practice taking the ground and first floors of the building. The new office space will include reception, workspace and meeting rooms on the first floor, and canteen and multifunction event space on the ground floor.

With an emphasis on energy efficiency and sustainability, the scheme is targeting BREEAM Excellent accreditation as well as an EPC rating of A. It is believed to be the first office building in Bristol to use an in-slab cooling system and will also connect to the city’s new low carbon district heating network. Additionally, the development will achieve a WiredScore and Cycling Score Platinum certification in recognition of its commitment to outstanding connectivity and exceptional cycling amenities.
