THE HORSEFERRY BUILDING

THE HORSEFERRY BUILDING
  • Completion: 2008
  • Client: Derwent London Plc
  • Value: £14 Million

The refurbishment of a simple but elegant 1930’s office building will create new light and modern office space for Burberry’s global headquarters. Apart from significant repairs to and upgrading of the existing fabric, long-redundant features of the original building have been brought back to life with the insertion of new metal-clad portals to re-define key entrances. Internally the original lightwells are being transformed into dynamic, day-lit, 7-storey circulation spaces made active by the insertion of new steel-framed bridge links connecting the two halves of the building.
