The Roeterseiland Complex Masterplan for the University of Amsterdam was won in open international competition. Aimed at the re-integration of the 1960’s campus into the city it involves the complete re-invention of an existing linked group of buildings and their relationship to their context. A combination of substantial demolition, re-cladding and carefully placed new structures creates new links, both physical and visual, between the complex and its surroundings.
