Unity Liverpool

Liverpool. 2006

  • Cost: £54 Million
  • Clients: Rumford Investments

When Liverpool was made European City of Culture 2008, focus shifted from the delivery of a landmark project towards building a symbol of the city’s renaissance. The Unity development features two towers rising from a podium housing 161 residential flats and 161,500 square feet of office, retail and parking space. The towers serve as powerful complements to the waterfront silhouette of Liverpool’s Three Graces. The patterning of the façades explores ideas of scale and urban camouflage, and links back to the geometrically-painted dazzle ships that once crowded the city’s docks.
